I often find myself talking about the lack of time, which is ironic because I’m on a mission to gain more time. My second mission is to encourage others to switch from plastic to wood items, which decompose faster and are better for the environment. So, today, I’d like to share three easy steps you can take to save time.
1.) One of the biggest time-wasters is what I call “Idle Time,” which is the unplanned moments in your day when you get stuck. For instance, when you’re walking through your living room and a commercial catches your attention, and you end up watching the entire thing, despite having no intention of buying the product. However, if you plan your day and write it down on paper, you will be more productive and get things done efficiently, and you won’t waste time getting sidetracked.
2.) Another time-saving tip is to plan your meals for the week. This way, you will save time and money at the store and at home.
3.) Additionally, when cooking, try to combine tasks to make the most of your time. For instance, while waiting for the water to boil, you can wash the dishes you’ve already dirtied, wipe off the countertops, and then return to stirring your food.
BONUS: We have a matching serving set that we keep on our refrigerator in a burlap dust protector bag and I use it when we need to save time. If someone comes over, I can grab this set off the fridge, remove the dust protector, and have a gorgeous table setting in 10 minutes! All the pieces are part of a matching set, which is what pulls it all together. It’s made with real locally harvested wood and two different types of wood species to make it unique. We use it for ALL of our holiday dinners, Sunday dinners, brunch, barbecues, birthday parties, and good ole regular gatherings with friends or family. We save money when using the set because we use it as part of the table decoration and it’s reusable!
In conclusion, saving time is not impossible, and by implementing these simple steps, you can make the most of your day and have more time for the things you love.
