Decorating With Wreaths and Tiered Trays

Decorating With Wreaths and Tiered Trays

The products we purchase on a regular basis are more expensive than it’s ever been, and I take satisfaction in being able to save my family money. When I rented my first place, I had no money to decorate. I was so excited to have my own place, and I wanted it to look nice. Unfortunately, I’m a horrible decorator. I found an old calendar showcasing scenic destinations and repurposed them as wall décor. I hung them in some old picture frames that I got at Goodwill. It did not look good…

Now, I store my seasonal decorations in storage so I can enjoy them at different times throughout the year. I enjoy finding sales on items that I can decorate my home with. Each season, I like to decorate certain areas of my home. For example, I like to change my throw pillow covers in the house and on the porch to match each season. I also like to decorate my tiered trays, which are popular right now. The other thing I change every season is my decorative wreaths. Because of the various color changes, spring and fall are my favorite seasons for decorating my home. There are so many options!

When it comes to decorating your home for the fall or spring season, you can either buy or make your own decorations. Even if you’re on a tight budget, a little creativity and patience will lead to a beautifully decorated season-inspired home worthy of the brightest designers!

You can use wreaths or tiered trays for every season:

Pinecone wreath. Greeting your guests at the door with a pinecone wreath ensures a warm and stylish welcome. If you want to save money, you can make it yourself. To save money I’ve added some links from Wal-Mart below.

  • Take an afternoon to collect pinecones with your children or grandchildren. Two small shopping bags of pinecones should be enough for a large wreath. Next, purchase a styrofoam wreath or purchase a plain rattan or grapevine twig wreath. I’ve also used metal wreaths and plain green cypress wreaths. Then, depending on the season, I decorate the wreaths accordingly! They come in different sizes.
  • You’ll also need a glue gun and some ribbon. Use a glue gun to adhere the flatter side of the pinecones to the wreath. Continue gluing pinecones until the wreath is no longer visible or until it looks the way you envisioned it. Then, loosely wrap a long ribbon around the top of the wreath and tie it.
  • You can display your pinecone wreath by hanging the ribbon on your door with a wreath hanger that can be purchased at most big box stores. Here are a few ideas you can use. I’ve used each type, and I like them all. My absolute favorite is the green or rattan, but you’ll have to decide for yourself.

Colors are supposed to be mood-altering, which is why I like to use happy colors in the spring! Spring makes me think of all the bright colors related to Easter, such as yellow, pink, green, or anything with plaid. Some people use the colors in the rainbow when they’re decorating for spring. You can also memorize the colors of the rainbow by using the abbreviation Roy G Biv, which stands for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Every holiday, I change the décor that I use on my Round 2-Tiered Trays and Rectangle 2-Tiered Trays! I also make and sell wooden Bead Garland Strands and I use them everywhere!
